Our Mission & Membership

The Alumni Association was formed in 1871 at the same time that the University of Central Missouri was founded as Normal School No. 2.The association’s organization has changed through the years, but its mission remains constant.

Our Mission

The UCM Alumni Association embraces the mission of Central Missouri and strives to advance the interests of the university by providing a partnership between alumni and the administration, faculty, staff, students and friends, and by providing a medium through which alumni can stay connected to the university and contribute to its ongoing success.

The association strives to build loyalty and support among graduates, former students and current students.This is accomplished by promoting a positive image of Central Missouri, by strengthening feelings of identity with their alma mater and by offering opportunities for alumni to serve UCM.

Membership

Membership in UCM’s Alumni Association is complimentary and happens automatically upon degree completion and graduation from the university. All UCM graduates, former students and lab school graduates are considered alumni. Every year, more than 2,000 students become alumni.
