The UCM Alumni Association is collaborating with the UCM Foundation to empower students through the student leadership group, Red Lead, working toward educating current students, as well as our 86,000 alumni and donors, about the value of engagement and philanthropy.
Formerly known as Alumni Ambassadors, Red Lead is starting fresh with a new name and mission:
- Increased size, with double the number of students involved
- Expanded mission, giving students the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of alumni and nonprofit organization functions
- Redefined student roles that provide hands-on learning, networking opportunities, and the opportunity to utilize their skills and expertise
- Expanded representation of student body; selected members from each college, athletics, International Center, and the Greek system
Faculty and staff are encouraged to nominate students who have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and are exceptional outgoing, personable, and well-organized leaders. Nominations are open online until March 14. Each nominee will have the opportunity to apply and interview for one of the 29 positions available for the 2015-16 academic year. All applicants will be chosen and notified by April 11.
