FoundationsAll Art & Design majors take the same foundation art classes. Foundations courses serve as a forum for developing basic observational drawing and design skills. The following classes are taken by all Art & Design majors as a foundation: ART 1110 Drawing I ART 1120 Drawing II ART 1313 Design I ART 1325 Design II ART 1800 Ideas & The Visual Arts ART 2335 Design III (Art Education majors are not required to take this course) These courses introduce visual arts terminology and concepts applicable to all areas of study within the Department of Art & Design. It is required that students take foundation courses early in their academic career as the content of these courses informs upper division course work. Class sequence suggestions may be found in the Survival Guide under each area of study. Students should meet with a departmental advisor for assistance in scheduling Art & Design classes.
