High School Art Information
Informational Letter to Teachers
Information regarding the annual High School Art Competitive Exhibition and Contest Day can be found in the letter at the above link.
The High School Art Contest Day will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Registration begins online Friday, February 1, and ends Friday, March 15, 2013.
The UCM High School Art Exhibition is a selection of outstanding artwork which will be on display March 25 - April 5, 2013. A reception will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013, from 1:00 - 3:00 pm. The event is open to all high school students. Students are allowed two pieces of work and can enter any original work that falls into the following classifications:
•Drawing
•Painting (oil, acrylic, opaque watercolor)
•Transparent Watercolor
•Mixed Media
•Printmaking (serigraphy, relief, intaglio)
•Fibers
•Design/Graphics
•Photography (minimum size 5” x 7”)
•Ceramics (limited to pieces no larger than 12” x 15” x 12”)
•Sculpture (limited to pieces no larger than 12” x 18” x 12”)
Note: All work(s) must be suitably prepared for hanging (flat work must be matted or framed).
SUBMISSION OF WORK:
All submissions will be done electronically. We will utilize the free Picasa Google site (http://picasa.google.com) for uploading digital images of student work. If your school's internet security does not allow the use of the Picasa website, please contact Christian Cutler at 660-543-4498.Your school's work must be uploaded through the Picasa site no later than Friday, March 1, 2013, 5 p.m. In addition, please fill out the online entry form for each student who is submitting work. Please make sure that the identifying information on the Picasa site is the same as on the entry form.

Tips for Photographing Artwork
Notice of accepted artwork will be sent via email no later than Friday, March 8, 2013.
Drop off times for ACCEPTED artwork will be Tuesday, March 12, from 8:00 – 5:00, Wednesday, March 13, 8:00 – 5:00 and Thursday, March 14, 8:00 – 8:00.
