Assistantship Job Descriptions
While graduate assistants are expected to work together as a team on many projects, there are several different types of positions. All are sure to further develop you as an individual and a professional. There are two Graduate Assistant packages.
Full Assistantships
[Alumni, Retention Waiver, Gateway Center, Violence and Substance Abuse Prevention, Mentorship]
-10 month annual appointments
-$7,500 stipend
-Tuition Scholarship-valued at approximately $5615 a semester

Work to assist the Assistant Director of New Student Programs in the effective functioning of the Campus Visit Office and on campus events. Train, lead, and evaluate student staff members in the Campus Visit Office as well as work closely with the Student Ambassadors Program in the promotion and marketing of the University of Central Missouri to prospective students, their families and other external groups with an interest in UCM. Advise and assist students in the development and pursuit of academic programs which maximize their abilities and interests. Full Assistantship with Required Housing
Full Assistantship
- Residence Hall Director (opening Fall 2013)
Provide leadership and direction to all students and staff living in the residence halls. Responsible for student staff supervision, training and development, hall council advising, outreach and counseling of residence hall students and problem solving within the hall. These positions report directly to the Assistant Director of Housing. A more detailed job description is available.

Help plan, organize, and implement a comprehensive intramural sports program including recruiting, training, scheduling, and evaluating officials; supervision of activities; scheduling team and individual sporting events.
