Three Mules named NCBWA All-American

Central Missouri State Mules junior third baseman Bridger Hunt was named an NCBWA First-Team All-American Wednesday along with teammates Adam Milauskas, a senior who earned third-team in the outfield, and junior Gered Mochizuki, who was an honorable mention pick at second base.

All three were on the NCBWA Central Region First-Team as well.

Hunt was also named the Central Region Player of the Year for both the ABCA and NCBWA, marking the third consecutive season that a player from CMSU has garnered the honor. He topped the conference in hits (95) and triples (11), leading the Mules in nearly every offensive category. He hit .415 with 74 RBI and 66 runs scored for CMSU. Hunt also moved up to second for triples in a season at Central Missouri.

He was the MIAA Player of the Year as well, taking first-team honors in both the region and conference. Hunt was drafted on Tuesday in the 9th round of the Major League Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers at pick No. 263.

Mochizuki, the Mules leadoff hitter, was second on the team in batting average at .392 and led the team in walks with 38. He got on base 48.0 percent of the time and ranked second on the squad with 89 hits.

Milauskas led CMSU with 16 home runs and now ranks in a tie for fifth in a single season and ninth for a career (25) at Central Missouri. He hit .443 in the month of May, including eight home runs and a slugging percentage of .902.

The Mules finished the season with a 44-16 record and won the MIAA Tournament Championship for the seventh consecutive season.
