| Promotions on Tap for Next Two Mules' Home Dates Warrensburg,
Mo. (Apr. 6, 2001) -- Central Missouri State University baseball fans will be
treated to Mules' baseball and a whole lot more during the team's next two home dates.
On Wednesday, Apr. 11, Sodexho Marriott and CMSU Athletics are sponsoring 25-Cent Hot
Dog Night for the Mules' game against Rockhurst University, while Central's contest with
Lincoln University on Monday, Apr. 16, has been designated as Q-96 Night. Q-96 FM (KLRQ in Clinton, Mo.) is the broadcast voice of Central
Missouri State athletics.
The first 500 fans to arrive at Wednesday's game will receive a coupon good for two hot
dogs at the concession stand for just 25 cents each. In addition to 25-cent hot dog night,
all of the other regular CMSU Athletics promotions and sponsor prize giveaways will take
place at the contest.
The activities will get underway at 5:30 p.m. on Apr. 16 as Q-96 personnel will be
hosts for a pre-game tailgate party, with food at the tailgate party available for a small
donation to the Q-Cares Fund. The Q-96 "Breakfast Brothers", Ken Dillon and
David Lee, will be broadcasting live during the tailgate party and they will also throw
out the first pitch of the game.
The first 200 fans to arrive at the game will receive a candy bar and one of the bars
will be specially marked. The fan holding that candy bar will receive a T-shirt and will
also have a chance to join the Mules' broadcast team of Shawn Jones and Bob Jackson on the
air for an inning during the game. Q-96 also will be giving away T-shirts, sport bottles,
CDs and CMSU baseball souvenirs throughout the game.
Game time both days will be 7 p.m. at CMSU's Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field. Ticket
prices for Mules' baseball are $5 for adults, $4 for CMSU faculty/staff and $2 for youth
ages 6-18. CMSU students are admitted free with a valid ID.
Coach Brad Hill's Mules currently are 25-5, ranked sixth in NCAA Division II and have
won 21 straight games heading into this weekend's three-game Mid-America Intercollegiate
Athletics Association series at Emporia State University. |
