CMSU & KLRQ-FM Announce Baseball Broadcast Schedule

Warrensburg, Mo. (Mar. 9, 2000) -- Central Missouri State University and KLRQ-FM (96.1) in Clinton, Mo., have announced a 24-game broadcast schedule of Mules' regular-season baseball games this season. The first broadcast will be Mar. 28, when the Mules play the University of Missouri in Columbia in a 7 p.m. contest.

The broadcast schedule will also include 22 of the Mules' 31 Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association contests, beginning with the Mar. 29 home twinbill against Southwest Baptist University. Veteran announcer Bob Jackson will call the play-by-play.

In addition to the Mules' game at Missouri, KLRQ-FM will carry a non-conference home game on Apr. 12 against Rockhurst University, last year's NCAA Division II Central Regional champion. The MIAA broadcasts will consist of road games at Missouri Southern State College (Apr. 1), Washburn University (Apr. 29) and Northwest Missouri State University (May 6-7), plus additional home games against the University of Missouri-Rolla (Apr. 5), Emporia State University (Apr. 8), Truman State University (Apr. 15), Missouri Southern (Apr. 19), Missouri Western State College (Apr. 21-22) and Pittsburg State University (Apr. 26). KLRQ-FM will also carry all Mules' post-season games for as long as they play, beginning with the MIAA Tournament May 12-14.

KLRQ's 100,000-watt signal covers 9,000 square miles and can be heard in such Missouri citites as Columbia, Jefferson City, Kansas City and Springfield. The station has been the exclusive radio outlet for Central Missouri State football and men's and women's basketball this season.

"We're delighted to have KLRQ continuing its coverage of Central Missouri State sports with the baseball broadcasts," said CMSU Athletics Director Jerry Hughes. "Our baseball program has enjoyed tremendous success for several years and now even more of our fans will be able to hear the games on KLRQ."
