Mules climb in two national polls
The Mules have jumped five spots to 17th in the latest AFCA-II Poll, and is 20th in the new D2Football.com Poll, as they head into Saturday's home battle with the in MIAA leaders from Northwest Missouri State. The Mules are fifth in the first NCAA-II Super Regional 4 rankings, while the Bearcats come into Saturday's game ranked 3rd in the regional poll.

Mules bounce back with win over Emporia State

The Mules treated a large crowd to a solid performance in all phases of the game Saturday afternoon, rolling to a 42-14 win over the Emporia State Hornets at Walton Stadium-Kennedy Field. Playing in front of 8870 fans as part of Parents Weekend, the Mules rolled out to a 42-0 lead early in the fourth quarter behind Eric Czerniewski, who threw four touchdown passes and ran for another. The Mules defense limited ESU to under 300 yards in total offense, and special teams came up a punt block (see above) that resulted in a score.

Former Mules have big day in NFL

Delanie Walker (L) and Roderick Green (R) were keys for the San Francisco 49'ers on Sunday (9/21) in a 31-13 victory over the Detroit Lions. Walker had three pass receptions, including one for a touchdown, while Green had two quarterback sacks and three total tackles.

Former Mules Assistant Coach inducted into NFL Hall of Fame
NFL Photo
Emmitt Thomas, who served as an assistant coach with the Mules from 1979-1980, was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame on Saturday, August 2nd. Thomas was a star defensive back with the Kansas City Chiefs from 1966 to 1978.
Weatherington is named AFL Lineman of the Year

Colston Weatherington has been named the 2008 Lineman of the Year in the Arena Football League. It's the second time that Weatherington has received the top honor as the league's top lineman. More Info »
The former Mules standout was selected a first-team All-League member for the third consecutive season as a member of the Dallas Desperados. More Info »
Weatherington was one of three former Mules on AFL rosters this past season. Kevin Nickerson played with the Orlando Predators, while Todd Devoe was a member of the Arizona Rattlers.
