Mules golfers take third at regional
The University of Central Missouri golf squad finished third at the NCAA Central Regional after starting off the first round with a 309. In sixth place, the Mules responded with a 290 and a 300 on the final two days for their final spot.
The Mules (+35) were four strokes behind host Missouri Southern (+31) while top-seeded Washburn (+14) ran away with the event, scoring a 17 stroke win.
The top individual performance for UCM was by Stefan Ballage at +6 in sixth while Justin Yoder took an eighth place +7 into the clubhouse. Ty Needels was 16th with a +11, Danny Markham and Jon Wrast tied for 24th with +16 scores.
Washburn will be the only team from the regional that advances to the NCAA Championships.
