Jennies blow out Lincoln, 91-38

After their first five games on the road, the Jennies basketball squad came home to battle winless Lincoln University for the second time this year. The Jens did not disappoint their crowd as they coasted to a 91-38 victory. The 57-point margin was the largest since CMSU defeated Harris-Stowe 105-38 in 1996.

Central Missouri (5-1) out-rebounded the Blue Tigers 52-27 in the contest while holding them to only 22.7 percent from the floor. The Jens also forced 25 Lincoln turnovers. They took a 47-16 lead into the half thanks to an eight minute 18-0 run in the early going.

The second stanza saw much of the same as the Jens outscored the Blue Tigers 44-18. Kara Rewerts (St. Joseph, Ill.) had a career-high 21 points after shooting 5-of-7 from three-point range while Cydney Franklin (Bellvue, Neb.) had her first double-double as a Jenny with 14 points and 12 boards.

As a team, the Jens shot a blistering 45.5 percent from beyond the arc (10-of-22) with Meagan Fromm (Memphis, Mo.) knocking down three of her four attempts. She finished with a season-high 16 points. Melissa Richardson (Paola, Kan.) was strong on the boards as she grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds and added eight points. Ashley Millham (Jackson, Mo.) led CMSU with six assists and turned the ball over only one time.
