Jennies take out Evangel, 92-48

The 18th ranked Central Missouri State Jennies forced 27 turnovers and gave it away a season low six times en route to a 92-48 romp of Evangel University on Tuesday night.

The Jens (7-2, 0-1 MIAA) were up 13-8 with 12:02 remaining in the opening period but blew the game open with a 24-3 run over the next nine minutes. Tiffany Vincent (Overland Park, Kan.) and Lindsey Maple (Knob Noster, Mo.) led the first half charge with 10 and 12 points, respectively. The Jens forced 17 turnovers in the period and ran to a 47-19 lead at the break.

In the second stanza, CMSU shot 50 percent from the floor and outscored the Lady Crusaders by 16 points. Cydney Franklin (Bellvue, Neb.) was tough inside as she turned in five offensive boards and had a career-high four blocks. The Jens put up 56 points in the paint compared to only 20 for Evangel. Central Missouri also had 37 of its points off Lady Crusader turnovers.

Vincent led the team with 20 points while Franklin added 17. Maple finished the outing with 16 while Anna Rorvig (Columbia, Mo.) was the fourth Jenny in double-figures with 10 points. Ashley Millham (Jackson, Mo.) led the team with eight rebounds and eight assists compared to no turnovers. The 92 points tied a season-high as the Jens put that number up against Harris-Stowe last week. CMSU also extended its non-conference home winning streak to 18 games.
