Kim Yancey Leaves CMSU for Brown University

Warrensburg, Mo. (Aug. 4, 2000) -- Central Missouri State University assistant women's basketball coach Kim Yancey has resigned to take a similar position at NCAA Division I Brown University in Providence, R.I.

A native of Holden, Mo., Yancey has been the top assistant for coach Scott Ballard for five seasons. During that time the Jennies have gone 102-41 and made three NCAA Division II tournament appearances.

At Brown, Yancey will be one of at least two assistant coaches for Jean Marie Burr, who has been head coach of the Bears for 12 seasons. A member of the Ivy League, Brown was 9-19 this past season.

Yancey's resignation is effective immediately. Ballard indicates he will try to fill Yancey's position as soon as possible.
