Two More Recruits for Next Season Warrensburg,
Mo. (June 8, 2001) -- Central Missouri State University Women's Basketball
Coach Scott Ballard has announced the signing of an NCAA Division I transfer and another
high school senior for the 2001-02 season. The latest additions to the Jennies' roster are
Isha (pronounced EYE-shuh) Kelley, a 5' 9"
point guard who is transferring from the University of Nebraska, and Jill Oldfield,
a 5' 6" guard from Adrian (Mo.) High School.
Kelley was a backup point guard the past two seasons at Nebraska. She played in all but
one game her freshman year and this past season averaged 11.7 minutes per game in nine of
the Huskers' 16 Big 12 games, starting three. She was a two-time all-state selection at
Lincoln (Neb.) Southeast High School.
Oldfield was a second-team all-state selection this past season at Adrian, where she
averaged 15.1 points, 7.6 assists and 4.6 steals for the 23-4 Blackhawks.
During the NCAA's early signing period last November, Ballard signed Bethany
Orendorff, a 6' 0" forward who averaged 23.7 points and 7.8 rebounds for 3A
state runner-up Doniphan (Mo.) High School, and Kinsey Lehe (pronounced
LAY-he), a 5' 8" guard from Frontier High School in Chalmers, Ind., where she
was a two-time conference MVP.
The Jennies were 19-9 this past season, their sixth under Ballard. |
