The Mules season ended in the opening round of the
NCAA-II Men's
South-Central Regional in Commerce, Tex., on Saturday, March 12th, when they fell
75-72 to
Tarleton (Tex.) State. After trailing by seven points late in the
game, the Mules rallied to tie the game with inside a minute to play, only
to see Tarleton State bounce back themselves to pick up the win. Four
players score in double figures for the Mules, led by senior Derek Weber
with 19 points. Mike Suggs scored 13 points for CMSU, while Corey
Brown added 12 points and Michael Hicks chipped in with 11. The loss
in the Mules first NCAA-II postseason game since 1997 put the finishing
touch on the Mules 24-7 record.

Former Mules head coach
