Hicks shows well at Division II All-Star Game /
Earns Third-Team All-America
Michael Hicks put up 20 points, eight rebounds, and four assists in only 19 minutes to represent the Central Missouri State Mules in the inaugural NCAA Division-II All-Star Game on Friday night at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass.
Hicks hit a three-pointer 10 seconds into the game and was one of only two players to tally at least 20 points in the outing for the West squad in a 134-122 victory. His eight rebounds were also second on the team behind Southwest Baptist center Frans Steyn, who pulled down 11.
Hicks was also named to the Division II Bulletin third-team All-America squad on Monday, March 27th, for his performance this season. He set the CMSU single-season mark for three-pointers made in a season with 116 and was the Daktronics South Central Region Co-MVP along with being named first-team All-MIAA for the second time in as many years. He was named to the MIAA All-Tournament team and South Central Regional All-Tournament team as well. He led the MIAA in scoring, at 21.5 points per game, and free throw percentage at 87 percent. He also earned MIAA Player of the Week honors three times.
Hicks performance this year ranks 7th in school history for single season scoring as well (687).
