Jones and Wright highlight Mules All-MIAA picks
The University of Central Missouri Mules, fresh off their second MIAA Regular Season Title in the last three seasons, had four named to the all-conference team today. The list was headlined by unanimous first-team selection Zack Wright, and MIAA Defensive Player of the Year, Theo Jones.
Jones, who is a repeat selection on the All-Defensive Team, also earned honorable mention All-MIAA honors for his play this year. His 1-on-1 defending helps the Mules rank second in the league with only 63.8 points allowed per game. He also leads the conference in three point percentage, hitting an outstanding 48 percent of his treys. Jones averages 11.6 points per game as well ranking 20th in the MIAA.
Wright, who was one of only two players to receive a unanimous selection to the first team (MIAA Player of the Year Hunter Henry bring the other), ranks in the MIAA top 10 in seven categories. He leads the Mules and is second in the league with 18.4 points per game while averaging a conference high 2.22 steals per game as well.
On the honorable mention team, Darryl Sommerset and Wadale Williams garnered honors. This is a repeat selection for Williams, while Sommerset is a first-time pick.
