WARRENSBURG, MO (July 18, 2002) – Central Missouri State Mules Basketball coach Kim Anderson has announced the hiring of Brad Loos as the program’s graduate assistant coach for the 2002-2003 season. Loos (pronounced LOOSE) comes to Central Missouri from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. In 2001, he served as a student assistant coach at Austin Peay after spending four years as a player for the Governors. Brad’s father, Dave Loos, is the head men’s basketball coach and athletic director at Austin Peay, an NCAA Division I member of the Ohio Valley Conference.
“We are excited to have Brad join our staff,” Anderson said. “He comes from an outstanding basketball background, having played and worked under his father Dave. He’s enthusiastic and we are pleased to welcome him into the Central Missouri State Mules basketball family.”
Loos was named to the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll four times as a player, and was the top basketball scholar athlete for three years. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Austin Peay in May 2002 with a 3.8 grade-point average in Health and Human Performance. In addition to his work with the Austin Peay program, Loos has also coached at basketball camps at Duke and Kentucky. He will begin his duties at Central on August 1st, and will join assistant coach Lamont Frazier and student assistant coach Blair Thompson to form Anderson’s staff at Central. The Mules will open the season on November 23rd hosting Monmouth (IL) at 7pm at the Multipurpose Building.
