| Meet the Mules
& Jennies Set for Nov. 9 Warrensburg,
Mo. (Nov. 3, 2000) -- Central Missouri State University basketball fans can get
an early look at the 2000-01 Mules and Jennies squads at "Meet the Mules and Jennies
Night", scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 9, at the CMSU Multipurpose Building.
The Mules, starting their fifth season under coach Don
Doucette, will conduct an intrasquad scrimmage beginning at 7 p.m. The Jennies, starting
their sixth season under coach Scott Ballard, will begin their intrasquad scrimmage at
approximately 7:45 p.m. Also present for the program will be the cheerleaders,
Mulekickers, pep band and MO the Mule. The program is open to the public with no admission
charge.
The Jennies will actually play an exhibition game prior to
Thursday night as they will face St. Louis Goldstar, a team of former college players, on
Sunday, Nov. 5 at 5 p.m. The Mules will play an exhibition game against Dream Builders,
also a team of former college players, on Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. Both games will be played at
the CMSU Multipurpose Building.
The Jennies officially begin their season in their own
University Inn Jennies Classic Nov. 17-18 at the Multipurpose Building. They will meet
Lincoln University in their season opener at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 17. Metropolitan State
College will play Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville at 5:30 p.m. in the first game
on Nov. 17. The third-place and championship games will be played at 3:30 p.m. and 5:30
p.m., respectively, on Nov. 18.
The Mules' season opener will be Saturday, Nov. 18, at
7:30 p.m. against Monmouth College of Illinois.
In the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association
preseason coaches' polls announced on Wednesday, Nov. 1, the Mules were picked to finish
fourth and the Jennies were picked to finish third. |
