Mules Basketball
1998-99 Season Wrap-Up
The Mules high hopes for a successful
season did not materialize, as they finished with a 14-14 record. Its only their
second non-winning record in the last 24 years. Their win total did include a 77-71
victory at Truman State University, which reached to the semifinals of the NCAA Division
II Elite Eight. The Mules were only 6-10 in MIAA play, but advanced to the league
tournament for the 19th straight season, losing in the opening round to Missouri Western
State College.
Junior Raymond Hugley led the Mules in scoring (14.5)
and in rebounding (8.5) and was the only Mules player to receive all-MIAA honors, as
he was named to the second-team. He also was a second-team All-South Central Region Team
selection. |
