Central Missouri State junior third baseman Megan Bax (Jefferson City, Mo.) was named to the 2005 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VII College Division Softball First-Team today. The award is given to players with outstanding performance on and off the field.

She has a cumulative GPA of 3.95 as a physical education major for the Jennies while also being named to the squad in 2004.

Bax led the team in hits (58) with a .319 average and only struck out 10 times in 182 at bats. She was also the most solid fielder on the team as she committed only two errors in 338 chances at catcher and third base (99.4 fielding %). The Jens finished the season at 30-29 for a 6th place MIAA finish.

Bax also earned honorable mention All-MIAA accolades for the second year in a row. She is the daughter of Fred and Brenda Bax and is a graduate of Jefferson City High School.
