Jennies
Softball 1999 Season Wrap-Up
The Jennies produced a 34-16 record, marking the fifth time in the last
six seasons they have won over 30 games. They finished third in the MIAA Tournament after
finishing fourth in the regular season standings. Julie Cobb was named the MIAA MVP and
was joined on the first-team all-MIAA squad by Alison Bucher and Wendi Winans. Second-team
selections for the Jennies were Lindsey Parker, Tracie Cox and Stacy Doiron. Receiving
honorable mention recognition were Casey McAllister and Gwen Giffin. Cobb was a first-team
all-region selection and was the only MIAA player named to the NFCA All-America teams,
earning second-team honors. She set a school record, batting .423, and also established
the Jennies record for career batting average (.381). She was a first-team Academic
All-America selection for the second straight year, making her the first CMSU
student-athlete to receive first-team Academic All-America recognition twice in a career. |
