Anderson, Wall named first-team Academic All-District

Central Missouri State University junior Kristin Anderson and sophomore Jarod Wall were recently honored by the College Sports Information Directors of America.  They were recognized for their efforts in the classroom and in the field of play, as they were named first-team Academic All-District VII for Track & Field/Cross Country.

Anderson and Wall were the individual winners in the 2003 MIAA Cross Country Championships.  Anderson went on to earn All-America honors at the 2004 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships by placing second in the 3000-meter steeplechase (she won the 3000, 5000, and 3000-meter steeplechase at the MIAA Outdoor Championships).  A native of Richfield, Ohio, she is a marketing major with a 3.96 grade-point average.

Wall, meanwhile, was second at the MIAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 10,000-meter run and was third in the 5000.  The Marshalltown, Iowa native qualified to compete in the 5000 at the NCAA-II Outdoor Championships.  He also was fourth in the 3000 and 6th in the 5000 at the MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.  An accounting major, he carries a 3.96 GPA.

As first-team Academic All-District selections, both Anderson and Wall will go on the ballot for Academic All-America honors.
