Anderson, Wall named
first-team Academic All-District
Central Missouri State University junior Kristin Anderson and sophomore Jarod
Wall were recently honored by the College Sports Information Directors of America. They
were recognized for their efforts in the classroom and in the field of play, as
they were named first-team Academic All-District VII for Track &
Field/Cross Country.
Anderson and Wall were the individual winners in
the 2003 MIAA Cross Country Championships.
Anderson went on to earn All-America honors at the 2004 NCAA Division II
Outdoor Track & Field Championships by placing second in the 3000-meter
steeplechase (she won the 3000, 5000, and 3000-meter steeplechase at the MIAA
Outdoor Championships). A native of Richfield, Ohio,
she is a marketing major with a 3.96 grade-point average.
Wall, meanwhile, was second at the MIAA
Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 10,000-meter run and was third
in the 5000. The Marshalltown, Iowa
native qualified to compete in the 5000 at the NCAA-II Outdoor
Championships. He also was fourth in the
3000 and 6th in the 5000 at the MIAA Indoor Track & Field
Championships. An accounting major, he
carries a 3.96 GPA.
As first-team Academic All-District
selections, both Anderson and Wall will go on the ballot for
Academic All-America honors.
