CMSU’s Jarod Wall named Academic All-American

Jarod Wall had to battle some illness and injury this past season, but still kept a positive attitude and an exemplary work ethic. It paid off for the Central Missouri State University junior, as he was honored recently as a third-team selection to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Team for Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country.

A native of Marshalltown, Iowa, Wall has maintained a 3.97 grade-point average while majoring in accounting. He earned All-America honors this year by finishing 14th at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships (he was third in the MIAA meet).

After missing the indoor track season with mononucleosis, took second in the 5,000 and third in the 10,000 at the outdoor championships.

In his career, Wall has been named All-MIAA 11 times and has won four conference titles (two in the indoor 3,000, one in the indoor 5,000, and one in cross country).

Wall has been named Academic All-MIAA two times and won Academic All-District accolades in 2003-04 for his work in the classroom.
