Anderson, Greer earn national titles

Seniors Kristin Anderson and Jennifer Drum-Greer earned national titles this weekend at the Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships in Boston, Mass., helping the Jennies finish 6th in the country.

On day one of the championships, Drum-Greer jumped to her second national title in three years with a height of 5-08.75. Anderson followed that performance with a win of her own in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 16:28.86. She was also a member of the Distance Medley Relay team that finished 4th in the nation at 11:44.87 (Alison Kelley, Amber Walker, Anderson, and Lori Pitz).

The Mules were led by a 3rd place mark (21.48) from an injury-plagued Imani Butler in the 200 meter dash. Butler actually ran the fastest time of the championships in the preliminary round at 21.26. Central Missouri also had two point-finishers in the weight throw with Dan Raithel taking 5th (62-01.00) and Steven Edwards grabbing 6th (61-06.75). The Mules also had the 5th place 4x400 relay team (3:14.40) in Ryan Irvin, Bruce Williams, Kyle Brown, and Dannon Abney. Jarod Wall also finished 8th in the 5,000 meter run (14:31.46) to cap the Mules indoor season.
