CMSU had an individual
national champion and a total of seven All-American performances at the
2006 NCAA-II
Outdoor Track & Field Championships that ended on Saturday, May
27th, in Emporia, Kansas.

Steven Edwards took first place in the
Discus
event on Saturday and earned his second All-American honor during the event. Edwards finished fifth in
the
Hammer
Throw during the opening day of competition on Thursday. Dan
Raithel finished third in that same event and the
1600 Meter Relay team of Dannon Abney, Ryan Irvin, Kyle Brown, and Bruce
Williams finished sixth on Saturday to give the Mules a total of four
All-American finishes over the three days of competition, and helped them to
a 11th place finish overall. The Jennies had three All-American
performances with Lori Pitz finishing third in the
Heptathlon on Friday,
while Becky Haug was third in the
Discus and Jennifer Drum-Greer finished fourth in the
High Jump on Saturday. As a team, the Jennies finished 14th and
both CMSU squads had the top finishes by an MIAA school in the event.

finishing in first place Sunday at
Emporia (Kan.) State University.
Both CMSU teams finished ahead of runner-up Pittsburg
(Kan.) State.

Lori Pitz, in action last Sunday during the MIAA Heptathlon, finished
first in that competition and was the high point individual (36.5 points) in
leading the Jennies to the team title for a second straight season.
Pitz also finished first in the 400 Meter Hurdles, and was one of seven,
first-place finishers for the Jennies over the weekend to help the Jennies
score 204.5 points and successfully defend their championship from last
season.

Jarod Wall, pictured in action during the Cross Country season, was a double
winner (5000 Meter Run and 10,000 Meter Run) for the Mules, who totaled 203
points to win the men's championship for the fifth time in the last six
years.

Results
The Mules had two place winners on Friday in the Men's
35-Pound Weight Throw. Dan Raithel was fifth and Steven Edwards sixth.
In Saturday's action, Imani Butler took third place in the 200-Meter Dash,
the Men's 1600 Meter Relay Team was fifth, and Jarod Wall finished eighth in
the Men's 5000 Meter Run

CMSU Qualifier Information
CMSU defends its men's and women's team titles at
the 2006
MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in
Joplin, Mo., on Saturday.
The Mules dominated the men's field to win by 57 points.

Steven Edwards was a double winner to lead the Mules, taking first in both
the Weight Throw and the Shot Put. Other Mules' conference champions
were: Jarod Wall (5000 Meter Run), Imani Butler (60 Meter Dash), Bruce
Williams (200 Meter Dash), Ryan Irvin (600 yard Run) and the 4 x 400 Meter
Relay Team of Ryan Irvin, Matt Prescott, Kyle Brown, and Dannon Abney.
The Jennies took the women's championship by a 45 point margin.

Kristin Anderson won three events to lead the Jennies to their team
championship. Anderson, who was named one of the
MIAA Track &
Field Athletes of the Week, finished first in the 5000 Meter Run, 3000
Meter Run, and the Mile Run. Other Jennies to win conference titles
were Jennifer Drum-Greer (High Jump) and the 4 x 400 Meter Relay Team of
Cody Varner, Beth Eiken, Amber Walker, and Lori Pitz.
