Jennies - 2005 MIAA Outdoor Women's Champions
The Jennies had a total of five first-place performances to go
along with strong finishes in several other events in scoring 199 points to
win the women's division by 46 points. Kristin Anderson won the 3000
Meter Run, 3000 Meter Steeplechase, and the 10,000 Meter Run, as well as
finishing second in the 5000 Meter Run. Lori Pitz (Heptathlon) and
Robin Miller (High Jump) were the other Jennies conference champions.
The team championship was the first ever for the Jennies in MIAA outdoor
competition.
The Mules fell a little short in their bid to repeat as men's outdoor
champions in what was a very tight race. Pittsburg (Kan.) State took
first place with 124 points, while Emporia State was second with 123 point,
followed by the Mules with 121. Missouri Southern was a close fourth
place with 119 points. CMSU had a pair of first-place performances
turned in by the 4x100 Meter Relay Team (Tim Stolarski, Bruce Williams, Eric
Moore, and Jason Shaw), and the 4x400 Meter Relay Team (Jason Shaw, Dannon
Abney, Bruce Williams, and Ryan Irvin).
