Four Jennies named to MIAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll for volleyball


(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) - Four Central Missouri State University Jennies volleyball players were recognized recently for their efforts in the classroom, as they earned Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll accolades.

Seniors Trudy Carter and Natalie Loerch were joined on the team by junior Elyse Mohme and sophomore Becky Haug.

Carter is a rightside hitter and elementary education major from Overbrook, Kan., while Loerch is a setter and finance major from Tulsa, Okla. Mohme is a junior middle hitter and business management major from Columbia, Mo., and Haug is a sophomore middle hitter and interior design major from Lee’s Summit, Mo.

In order to be named to the MIAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 or better at the qualifying institution; must have at least two terms of attendance at the member school, excluding summer sessions; must be a sophomore, junior, or senior in athletic eligibility; and must not be inactive due to redshirt or hardship.

The Jennies volleyball team finished the 2003 campaign with a record of 26-11, 11-5 in the MIAA. Central tied for second in the MIAA regular season standings and went on to the NCAA Division II Volleyball Sweet 16, where it finished second in the NCAA South Central Regional.
