Former Middle Tennessee State University volleyball standout transfers to Central Missouri State


(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) - Central Missouri State Jennies volleyball coach Peggy Martin has added a standout Division I transfer to her roster for the 2004 season. Joining the Jennies next fall will be former Middle Tennessee State University setter Goldie Bilyeu.

Bilyeu, who will be a senior next fall, ranks among the career leaders in assists at Middle Tennessee State with more than 2,200. She also had 600 digs and 87 service aces for her career. Last year the 5-foot-6 Bilyeu led the Blue Raiders with 648 assists and .284 hitting percentage while registering 166 digs. Her assists total ranked eighth in the Sun Belt Conference. She redshirted in 2002.

A graduate of Ozark (Mo.) High School, she was a second-team all-state and first-team All-Central Ozark Conference selection when she played both setter and outside hitter. The daughter of Donnie and Laurie Bilyeu, she also lettered all four years in basketball at Ozark. She will major in interior design at Central.
