Jennies Volleyball signs middle hitter for 2006
Central Missouri State Jennies head volleyball coach Peggy Martin has added a stellar middle hitter—for 2006. Jillian Ohrman, a transfer from the University of Mississippi, has transferred to CMSU and will redshirt this fall while learning the Jennies’ system. She’ll then be penciled in as the middle hitter (a vital cog in Martin’s attack) for 2006.
Jillian started for two years at Ole Miss as an undersized middle hitter and held her own,” Martin said. “We’re delighted to get her. She’ll add depth this fall and be ready when Becky (Haug) graduates.
“She comes from a volleyball family—her mother and father both played,” Martin added. “She really is a good catch. This really changes our recruiting for next year.”
Ohrman left Ole Miss in the middle of the year last fall. A prep standout at William Chrisman High School in Independence, Mo., she was an all-conference, all-district, and all-area selection. The 5-foot-11 Ohrman also was an all-state pole vaulter at William Chrisman.
A junior when she comes to CMSU, Ohrman is a business administration major.
