Volleyball Jens add three for 2005 campaign
The Central Missouri State University Jennies volleyball team has barely completed its 2004 campaign, and already added three more recruits to letters of intent.
Amanda McCullough (Overland Park, Kan.), Caitlin Pankratz (Hutchinson, Kan.), and Jacquelyn Williams (Overland Park, Kan.) all have signed with the Jennies for the 2005 season. They join Brittany Warnke, and outside hitter from LaPorte, Ind., as the latest to don the Central Missouri State cardinal & black.
McCullough, a 5-10 outside hitter, is a senior at Shawnee Mission South High School. The daughter of Mary and Ken McCullough, she lettered all four-years on the court, and is a three-time All-Sun Country and All-League selection. McCullough also was chosen to compete in the Missouri-Kansas All-Star Game.
A 5-7 setter, Pankratz is in her final year at Buncer (Kan.) High School. She also has lettered all four years in volleyball, and has added four letters in softball and three in basketball. An all-league selection on both the court and the diamond, the daughter of Darrell and Mary Pankratz will also compete in softball for the Jennies.
Williams is the daughter of Steve and Courtney Williams, and is a 5-11 outside hitter at Bishop Miege High School. A three-year letter winner, she was named to the Kansas 5A All-State Team, and was also a first-team Eastern Kansas League and All-Sun Country selection following her senior year. Williams helped lead Bishop Miege to the 5A State title as a sophomore, junior, and senior, and was chosen for the 2004 Missouri-Kansas All-Star Game.
The Jennies finished the 2004 campaign with a record of 31-7, 13-3 in the MIAA. They finished second in the MIAA, second in the league tournament, and second in the South Central Regional Tournament. The season marked the 26th consecutive year the Jennies won at least 25 games (the first time since 1996 they won 30), and the 22nd straight year they advanced to the NCAA Regional Tournament.
