The eighth-ranked Central Missouri State volleyball squad closed out the CMSU Classic with two wins on Saturday. The Jennies (7-4) swept both Henderson State (30-27, 30-26, 30-27) and Missouri-St. Louis 3-0 (30-19, 30-14, 30-23).

Against HSU, the Jens hit a stellar .341 and had three players in double-figure kills. Becky Haug (Lee’s Summit, Mo.) led the way, hitting .500 on 14 kills while freshman Brooke Butler (Tulsa, Okla.) put down 15 kills with a .406 hitting percentage. CMSU did just enough in the three games as it won by narrow margins each time. On defense, the Jens were led by Katie Tarka (St. Charles, Mo.) with 22 digs while other notable performances came from Andrea Robertson (Hermann, Mo.) with10 kills, and Kaci Young (Littleton, Colo.) with 46 assists.

The Jennies outmatched UMSL from the start as they held the Riverwomen under 24 points in every game, including a 14-point game two effort. Young, Tarka, and Audrey Jensen (Independence, Mo.) all had double-figure digs in the match while Robertson and Butler both went over the mark in kills. Missouri-St. Louis managed only 20 kills and were held to a .029 hitting percentage in the match while the Jens administered 55 kills and a .248 hitting percentage.
