Jennies get five on All-MIAA team
The 13th ranked Central Missouri State Volleyball squad, after a third place regular season finish in the conference, had five players named to the All-MIAA team on Thursday.
Senior middle hitter Becky Haug (Lee’s Summit, Mo.) earned first-team honors, leading the team in kills (443), points (545), hitting percentage (.343), and blocks (141). She is also ranked among the top five in the MIAA in each of those categories. This year’s selection makes her a four-time All-MIAA performer.
The Jennies had three named to the second-team in sophomore middle hitter Andrea Robertson (Hermann, Mo.), junior libero Katie Tarka (St. Charles, Mo.), and senior setter Kaci Young (Littleton, Colo.).
Robertson averages 3.54 kills per game and is second on the squad in blocks with 135. Her versatility shows as she has 129 digs and 26 service aces as well. Tarka has played both libero and outside hitter this season, leading the team with 4.83 digs per game and also knocking down 134 kills. This is her third selection to the All-MIAA squad.
Kaci Young is the Jennies all-time leader in assists. She averages 13.14 per game, which is second in the conference this season. She also leads the team in service aces (37) and gets up 3.01 digs per game. This is her third all-conference pick. Freshman outside hitter Brooke Butler (Tulsa, Okla.) also earned recognition as she took honorable mention All-MIAA accolades after ranking second on the team in kills (410). She led the team in total attacks (1,031) and hit .259 this season.
