For the ninth time in nine matches the Central Missouri State University Jennies found themselves on the winning end, as they defeated Missouri Southern State University 3-0 here today.It wasn’t easy, as the Jennies (20-7, 11-3 MIAA) won 30-25, 30-27, 30-20. Game one saw 11 ties and six lead changes before CMSU pulled away from a 22-22 tie with an 8-3 scoring advantage down the stretch. The Jens won the game on a service error by the Lions’ Sarah Hoffmeister.Missouri Southern (10-18, 3-9 MIAA) jumped to a quick 7-0 lead in game two before CMSU woke up. The Jennies tied the match at 9-9 and battled the rest of the way before senior Becky Haug put down a kill for game point.Game three was no contest. Central Missouri State broke open a tight 9-7 affair with a 14-3 run before cruising to the win.For the match, CMSU had 17 more kills than Missouri Southern, 57-to-40, and got four service aces, three by senior setter Kaci Young. Young also had a match-high 48 assists. Freshman Brooke Butler led CMSU with 18 kills and 18.5 points. Andrea Robertson had 13 kills and 16.5 points. Audrey Jensen had 16 digs, while Katie Tarka added 15, Young 14, and Brooke Henry13.
