Mavericks come back to knock off Jennies, 3-2

It was a battle of top 25 teams, but it looked like the 10th ranked Central Missouri State Jennies would easily dispense of the 24th ranked Mavericks after two frames. CMSU led 2-0 before UNO rallied for three consecutive games and grabbed the upset 3-2 (30-23, 30-28, 18-30, 28-30, 13-15).
Central Missouri (0-1) hit a solid .293 in the first game but would never get above .196 in any of the other four games. The Jens only converted 16.7 percent of their attempts in the match while the Mavericks nailed down 24.3 percent.
UNO’s Carlie Christensen led all players with 19 kills and hit a blistering .486 while Nicole McLeod hit .414 with 12 kills.
Central Missouri was led by sophomore Brooke Butler with 15 kills and junior Jillian Ohrman with 14. Katie Tarka was the high dig player for the match, tallying 39.
