All-MIAA and All-Region volleyball teams selected

After a second place MIAA East Division finish and an 11-2 overall mark in conference play, the University of Central Missouri Jennies landed five to the All-MIAA team on Monday afternoon. Those selections, along with two Daktronics All-Region picks were a big part of the Jens 27-6 overall mark.
The two first-team all-conference selections were senior libero Katie Tarka (St. Charles, Mo.) and junior middle hitter Jillian Ohrman (Independence, Mo.). The two also earned first-team Daktronics All-Region accolades and are candidates for All-America honors.
Tarka leads the 17th ranked Jennies in digs at 7.02 per game. This is her fourth appearance on both squads (three first-team selections each). She is the UCM and MIAA leader in career digs with 2,964 for her career.
Ohrman led the Jens in kills (477), attacks (1062), and hitting percentage (.354) this season. She ranks among the national leaders in percentage and blocks (1.14 pg). This is her first selection to each of these squads as she transferred to UCM from the University of Mississippi.
The lone second-team All-MIAA selection was junior middle/rightside hitter Andrea Robertson (Hermann, Mo.). After battling back injuries all season, Robertson still put up the numbers be selected to the second-team for the second season in as many tries. She tallied 2.98 kills per game and hit .233 with .85 blocks per game.
On the honorable mention All-MIAA squad were a couple outside hitters. Sophomore Brooke Butler (Tulsa, Okla.) made her second appearance in as many seasons while freshman Lauren Nuckolls (Overland Park, Kan.) made first campaign a good one as well. The two were third and fourth on the team in kills per game and second and third in total points.
