Jennies roll in MIAA opener over SBU, 3-0
Southwest Baptist was no match for the 10th ranked Jennies, falling 3-0 in the 2006 MIAA season debut for CMSU.
Central Missouri coasted past the Bearcats without letting them get to 20 points in any game (30-18, 30-14, 30-19). In fact, the Jennies held them to a negative hitting percentage (-.015). CMSU hit .276 as a team and dished out 40 assists.
Junior setter Ashlei Jandrey led the way with 22 assists while reining MIAA Hitter of the Week Jillian Ohrman kept her double-digit kills streak alive with 10 on only 17 attempts with no errors. Andrea Robertson led the Jens with 11 kills while the conferences new all-time dig leader, Katie Tarka, led the way with 18 saves the night.
CMSU trailed by more than one at only one point in the match, 5-1 in the third set. The Jennies scored the next nine points on the serve of junior outside hitter Audrey Jensen, however.
