Jennies fall to top-ranked Bulldogs

The Central Missouri Jennies came in at No. 12 in the nation, but the Truman Bulldogs were ranked No. 1, and they played like it. After UCM rode the 1,200 plus fans to a game one victory, TSU took the next three on its way to a 3-1 win Wednesday night in Warrensburg.
The Jennies wrapped up MIAA play with an 11-2 record and clinched the second seed in the MIAA East division. They are 25-4 overall and will travel to Alabama to face a couple non-conference games this weekend.
The opening game saw 16 ties and seven lead changes as the Jennies used a spurt at the end of the game for a 30-27 victory. Truman proceeded to take early leads in the next three games and held on for scores of 30-25, 30-20, and 30-25.
Central Missouri celebrated senior night for Katie Tarka, Brooke Henry and Katie Patterson. Jillian Ohrman led the Jens in kills with 15 while Tarka logged her 13th 30-dig match of the season with 32 on the night. Brooke Butler added 12 kills and Jacquelyn Williams put up 10 on the night. Ashlei Jandrey dished out 23 assists while Caitlin Pankratz led the way with 29.
The difference proved to be errors. Truman committed 10 errors in the first game and only 13 in the next three combined. Central Missouri tallied 10 in two different games on its way to 31. Truman hit .215 while the Jens managed a .142 percentage.
