Jennies sign Mill Valley standout student-athlete

(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) - Central Missouri State University Jennies head volleyball coach Peggy Martin has announced the signing of Kelly Wilbur, a 5-11 outside hitter from Mill Valley High School (Shawnee, Kan.) to a letter of intent for the 2003 season.

Wilbur, who signed with the Jennies during the early signing period, not only has been productive on the court, she also is ranked No. 1 in her class academically.

"Kelly is a great student, the type of student-athlete we are pleased to have in our program," Martin says. "She should be able to come in and help us at the outside hitter position."

The Jennies finished the 2002 regular season with a record of 24-8, 13-3 and tied for second in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. They head to Topeka, Kan. tomorrow to begin play in their 20th consecutive NCAA Division II Regional Volleyball Tournament.
