Rhea Griffin, Noelle Casas to Receive Crouch Scholarship Awards

Warrensburg, Mo. (Nov. 8, 2000) -- Volleyball player Rhea Griffin and softball player Noelle Casas are this year's recipients of the Garrett and Sue Crouch Scholarships at Central Missouri State University.

Mr. Crouch, who died in 1999, was a former member of the university's board of regents and strong supporter of the Jennies' volleyball and softball programs. Mrs. Crouch remains an avid supporter of both programs.

The recipients of the Garrett and Sue Crouch Scholarships each year, a volleyball player and a softball player, are chosen by their respective head coaches, with the selection based on citizenship, character, and academic and athletic contributions to their respective teams.

Griffin is a senior physical education major from Red Bud, Ill. She has been a four-year starter for the Jennies and is team captain this year. She is leads the squad in digs, shares the lead in service aces and is second in kills.

Casas is a junior art major from Lee's Summit, Mo. She played in 33 of the Jennies' 52 games last spring, with 27 starts, and hit .247.
