Jennies Sign Third Recruit for 2001

Warrensburg, Mo. (Nov. 13, 2000) -- Central Missouri State University volleyball coach Peggy Martin has announced the signing of her third recruit to a National Letter-of-Intent for next season.

The latest to join the highly successful Jennies' program is 6' 2" middle hitter Elyse Mohme (pronounced (E-LEESE  MOE-me) from Waterloo (Ill.) Gibault High School. She is the younger sister of current CMSU player Janell Mohme (pronounced Juh-NELL MOE-me), who is a junior.

Her signing will give the Jennies a sister combination on the team for a fourth straight year. Sisters Rhea and Robyn Griffin of Red Bud, Ill., have been key performers for the Jennies for three seasons. Rhea Griffin is a senior this year and Robyn is a junior.

Last week Martin announced the signing of 5' 11" middle hitter Kristin Perrin from Warrensburg (Mo.) High School and 5' 11" middle/outside hitter April Decker from Owensville (Mo.) High School.

The signings came during the NCAA's early signing period of Nov. 8-15 for fall sports. The regular signing period for letters of intent for the 2001 season runs from April 11 to August 1.

In their 25th season under Martin, the Jennies are 26-7, ranked No. 22 in NCAA Division II, have won or shared the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association title for 19 consecutive years and are making a Division II-record 18th straight NCAA tournament appearance.
