Jennies Add Three Recruits for 1999 Season

Warrensburg, Mo. (Feb. 3, 1999) - Head coach Peggy Martin announced today the addition of three student-athletes to the Central Missouri State University volleyball program. Two are  high-school athletes and the other is a junior-college transfer.

Natalie Loerch is a setter from Bishop Kelley High School in Tulsa, Okla. She was the most valuable player of the Oklahoma state tournament this past season.

Coach Martin on Loerch: "Natalie is a quality person with great leadership abilities. She has the talent to challenge for the starting setter position as a freshman."

Jacque Barr is an outside hitter/defensive specialist from Lee's Summit (Mo.) North High School. She was named to the Kansas City Star newspaper all-metro team and was an all-state selection.

Coach Martin on Barr: "Jacque is a great person that is coming to Central with outstanding academic credentials. She has great ball control on the volleyball court."

Jennifer Withhoelder is an outside hitter that transferred to Central Missouri from Jefferson College (Mo.) at the start of the spring semester.

Coach Martin on Withoelder: "Jennifer is a tremendous jumper and extremely athletic. She could have an immediate impact on our team."

The Jennies finished 27-5 last season, winning the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association title for the 17th consecutive year and advancing to the NCAA Division II National tournament for the 16th straight year.
