Mules rally past Upper Iowa

Iain Dykins two-run homerun capped the Mules seventh-inning rally
The Central Missouri Mules rallied late and came away with a 6-3 win over Upper Iowa on Saturday afternoon at Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field.
Upper Iowa scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to break a 1-1 tie, but the Mules rallied for three runs in the bottom half to take the lead for good. Down 3-1 with two outs and a runner on third Mike Hallam doubled to right field to pull the Mules within one. The very next batter, Iain Dykins homered to left to give the Mules the 4-3 lead.
UCM (8-4) tacked on two more runs in the eighth when Clay Weatherford smashed a one out homerun to left for the 6-3 lead.
Mark Carey (1-0) picked up the win with seven innings of work. He allowed three runs on five hits with seven strikeouts. Chris Matlock came on in the eighth and pitched the Mules out of a jam and Alex Kent pitched the ninth for his first save of the season.
