Jared Potts signs contract with Toronto
Jared Potts becomes the 15th Mules player to sign with an MLB affiliated club in the past six years
Central Missouri senior pitcher Jared Potts will get a chance to continue his baseball career as he signed a free agent contract with the Toronto Blue Jays today.
The 6-3 southpaw was a second-team All-MIAA selection this season for the Mules and will head to Tampa, Florida to take part in a rookie camp. After the camp, Potts will find out where he will be playing the remainder of the season.
“All I can say is that I am just excited for the opportunity to keep playing baseball.” Potts said.
He went 15-7 in his UCM career and struck out 167 batters in 143.2 innings. He also held opposing batters to a .235 average.
Potts helped the Mules finish fourth in the nation with a 47-17 overall record in 2008.
