Chance Tuttle had four hits, including a homerun, in action Monday
The Mules picked up a split in doubleheader action Monday with Emporia State, and wrapped up a key early season four-game MIAA series by winning three of the games in Emporia, Kansas.

UCM used a two-run homerun from Nick DeBiasse and a solo shot from Frank Specht to score three runs in the top of the first inning in game two, and went on to post an 8-2 victory. Ryan Allen picked up the win with six solid innings as the starter.
Chance Tuttle and Tyler Ruch led the Mules attack in the twinbill Monday, collecting four hits each.
The Mules moved up one spot to fourth in the latest NCAA-II Poll released on Monday, and are now 11-1 in conference play, and 16-2 overall.

Bret Schwartz drove in five runs in the Mules second game victory Sunday
The Mules captured the
opening two games of a key early season four-game MIAA series against Emporia State on Sunday afternoon, winning 8-3 and 17-3 in Emporia, Kansas.
The Mules scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning to put the first game away against the eighth-ranked Hornets, and then tallied eight runs in the first inning of the nightcap on the way to that win.
Brooks Martin improved to 5-0 with the win in game one, while Alex Kent came out of the bullpen to get out of a sixth-inning jam to earn the save. Tyler Ruch had a key two-run double, and scored a run, in the four-run seventh inning to seal the opening game.
Mules sent 12 men to the plate in the eight-run first inning uprising of the nightcap, with Bret Schwartz getting two hits in the inning, and recording four of his five RBI's in the opening frame. Jon Wegener had four of the 17 hits for UCM in game two, plenty of support for Matt Curtis, who went the distance in the game cut to seven innings due to the 10-run rule.
