Coach Myers Says: Bret was very good this fall. He makes adjustments as quick as anyone on this team. Defensively, he was as solid and steady as we expected. He has a strong arm and quick release. Offensively, he speeds the game up on the opposition. He is aggressive and smart. His approach to hitting is simple. He understands the game and how to make adjustments to put himself in a position to hit. He can hit to all fields and understands situational baseball. When he is on the bases, he can apply pressure on the pitcher. He earned the opening day start at shortstop this spring.
In High School: Was a two-time all-state, all-conference, and all-area performer for head coach Marc Hines... As a senior he hit .444... Committed only two errors in three years as a starter... His team won the 4A state title as a junior... Also played basketball and ran cross country, lettering three years in each, earning all-conference honors twice on the court... Played in the East/West All-Star Game as well.
