Coach Myers Says: John had a great fall. He is an outstanding defender with a very strong arm. He really impressed me at third base this fall, but can play anywhere on the infield that we need him. At the plate, he was very steady and gives us a young player that can hit anywhere in the lineup. John will be our opening day third baseman.
In High School: Played for head coach Dennis Hurla at Bishop Ward High School... The Kansas 4A Player of the Year, he also earned Hy-Vee and Fox4 Athlete of the Year as a two sport star... Helped his team to three state and regional titles in his career... An All-KVL and all-metro shortstop, he also played quarterback, punter, and cornerback for the football team... A team captain, he was All-KVL as a punter and corner... Set school records for touchdowns and passing yards as well.
