Coach Myers Says: Jon has some tremendous ability. He has raw power, a very strong and accurate throwing arm, and is one of our fastest players. We are watching his development closely and he could be an impact player for us if it all comes together.
As a Freshman: Saw most of his action in a reserve role in the outfield... He was brought in to pinch hit several times... Had two hits against UNO (Feb 24)... redshirted in 2007.
In High School: A first-team all-state, all-conference, all-area, and all-metro catcher, he also earned all-district honors in the outfield... he lettered three years for head coach James Oyler and also earned honorable mention all-conference three times in football... Wegener also garnered all-star honors in American Legion play and played in the Mo-Kan All-Star Game.
Personal: Secondary Education- History major ... born May 6, 1988 ... son of Don Wegener and Barbara Wegener.
