Coach Myers on Clay Weatherford: An outstanding defensive player that gets great jumps on the ball and you never find him out of position…offensively we need him to get on base where he can cause trouble for the opposition.

As a Junior: The starting center fielder... had a 3-of-4 performance against Truman (Apr 3) with three RBI on a double and a homer... also tallied three RBI in a 3-of-5 game against Emporia (Apr 22)... put up a perfect 3-of-3 performance against Emporia on May 13.

Before UCM: Weatherford batted .380 with five home runs, three triples, and 26 stolen bases as a freshman at Itawamba. He helped lead ICC to a conference and regional title... Itawamba was also third in the Super Regional... a graduate of Itawamba High School in Fulton, Miss., he was 4A first-team all-state and all-conference, as a senior after batting .475 with five home runs, 15 doubles, and six triples...he helped lead Itawamba High to a pair of division titles and as a senior helped lead his legion team to a state championship.
