42 - Scott Thomason
Pitchers & Catchers
Scott Thomason is no stranger to the Mules as he helped coach them for four seasons under Brad Hill, including the 2003 National Championship team.
For the last four seasons though, he has served as an assistant for Hill at Kansas State. While there, he was in charge of team travel while serving as the facility coordinator and department liason for baseball. He also had duties in alumni relations and budget management, while coordinating on campus visits for recruits.
Thomason also has served as both the assistant and head coach for Manhattan American Legion teams. In 2000, Thomason’s Manko team won the American
Legion state title. At Rock Creek High School, Thomason also spent the 1999 baseball season as the assistant varsity baseball coach.
As a player, Thomason played two seasons as a pitcher at Cloud Community College and also served an additional semester as a student assistant coach.
Thomason graduated from Manhattan High in 1996 after lettering in baseball for the Indians and earned his bachelor’s degree in sports studies from Central Missouri in 2002. He is also working on a master’s degree in sports administration. He and his wife Shonda were married this past July.
